FITTING TOOL
The Fitting Tool can try fitting known expressions to an active plot in the current graph. If more than one active plot exists, then plots can be merged before fitted. 1D/2D/3D fittings are available. The explicit expression obtained by the fit can be copied to clipboard (in latex format) or be tagged within the current graph. The fit can be saved to a file as a fit profile and be used to evaluate data within the various modules, Command Syntax and New Graph Tool. Basic algebraic function, such as derivatives and integrals, can be made by the Algebraic Tool on the expression obtained.
Fitting a cubic equation to a plot of effective mode index E1,1 (neff) as a function of waveguide width (W[nm]). The explicit equation obtained (underneath in blue) has a 99.93% match with minor deviations.
Fitting a cubic, lan and power equations to a plot of the mode E1,1 propagation constant (βz) as a function of waveguide width (W[nm]). The fitted equations are tagged and displayed in the legend.
Fitting a 2D polynomial equation to a plot of effective mode index E1,1 (neff) as a function of waveguides' gap width (WGap[nm]) and height (H[nm]). The explicit equation is fitted and superimposed on the original plot (circles).
Fitting a 3D Interpolation equation to a plot in Master Graph™ that was created by New Graph Tool as a function of X, Y and Z. The explicit equation is fitted and superimposed on the original plot (smaller circles w. black edge line).
